Grooming Appointments

When considering choosing The Bark Side for your pet here are some things to consider. We are a very small salon and are open Tuesday - Friday. Appointments are three hours long and your pet must be picked up within an hour of the given completion time. If your pet is the last to be groomed for the day they must be picked up at the given completion time which is typically at closing at 3:00pm.
While a large salon can accommodate 40-50 dogs per day, our small salon only can fit in 30-40 in an entire work week. With the limited appointments available, all dogs must be on an every 6 week or less schedule. To be on our schedule, you must make an appointment the same day as your current appointment. If you choose us as your grooming facility a convenient schedule will be made for you to help keep your pet groomed in a timely manner.

Why can't I leave my dog at the salon all day?

Due to our small size, and the anxiety it can cause a pet, we do not offer daycare. After 3 hours your pet is more than ready to go home and when left longer, with our the limited space, we can not accommodate lots of pets.

Why do I need to SCHEDULE ahead?

Due to our limited amount of appointments available being a one groomer one bather salon, trying to book an appointment can take 4-6 weeks. Planning ahead not only ensures your pet will be groomed in a timely manner, you can also have your pets schedule coincide with your own schedule of appointments and vacation.

Why must my pet be on a schedule?

Dogs love a schedule. When a dog has a predictable rhythm to its life they are more relaxed and happy. Grooming takes training and patience from your dog. When they go past a certain amount of weeks they start to forget their experience and the groom can have a negative feel for them rather than enjoying it. They also have a better chance of their hair matting and nails becoming overgrown when appts are far apart, which can lead to health issues and general discomfort for them.

Where will my pet stay during its' appointment?

For your pets safety, and the cleanliness of the salon, your pet will be placed in a kennel. While your pup might enjoy the company of other dogs, other dogs might not. To ensure there aren't any scuffles that could end in a veterinary visit, we believe your pet should make friends outside of the salon with you :) This also insures that if a dog has an unknown parasite or infection they will not be transferred to your pet.
While at their appointment, the time spent in a kennel is very minimal as well.
