Grooming Appointments

Thank you for considering The Bark Side for your pet’s grooming needs. As a small salon open Tuesday through Friday, we prioritize personalized care and maintain a specific schedule to accommodate our clients:

- Appointment Duration: Each appointment is three hours long. Your pet must be picked up within one hour of the provided completion time.
- End-of-Day Pickups: If your pet is the final appointment of the day, they must be picked up at the given completion time, typically our 3:00 PM closing.
- Scheduling Requirements: To manage our limited capacity of 30–40 dogs per week, we require all pets to be on a grooming schedule of every six weeks or less.
- Booking: Appointments must be scheduled on the same day as your current service. This ensures a convenient, recurring schedule is maintained for your pet

Why can't I leave my dog at the salon all day?

Due to our small facility size and the potential anxiety it can cause pets, we do not offer daycare services. We find that most pets are ready to go home after three hours. Because of our limited space, we are unable to accommodate pets for extended periods.

Why do I need to SCHEDULE ahead?

As we are a one-groomer and one-bather salon, our appointment availability is limited, and we are currently booking 4–6 weeks in advance.

Planning ahead ensures your pet is groomed in a timely manner and allows you to better coordinate these visits with your own schedule and upcoming vacations. We encourage you to book your next appointment soon to secure your preferred date and time.

Why must my pet be on a schedule?

Dogs thrive on a predictable schedule; having a consistent rhythm helps them stay relaxed and happy. Regular grooming requires training and patience, and when appointments are spaced too far apart, dogs may lose their familiarity with the process. This can turn a potentially enjoyable experience into a stressful one.

Furthermore, infrequent grooming increases the risk of matted hair and overgrown nails, which can lead to health issues and general discomfort. Maintaining a routine schedule ensures your dog stays comfortable and healthy.

Where will my pet stay during its' appointment?

For the safety of your pets and the cleanliness of our salon, all pets are placed in individual kennels during their visit.

While many dogs enjoy socializing, we maintain this policy to prevent any potential altercations and ensure a stress-free environment. This also prevents the accidental spread of parasites or infections between pets.

Please be assured that the time spent in a kennel during an appointment is kept to a minimum.
